Victoria Beckham joins Paris Fashion Week !

Victoria Beckham will join the official line-up of Paris Fashion Week with a live runway show this autumn, the organisers announced on Wednesday.

The British designer and former Spice Girl has previously presented in London and New York, though she has not staged a live runway show since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

She will present her new luxury collection during the spring 2023 women's ready-to-wear shows, which run between September 26 and October 4.

Paris Fashion Week has poached a number of British talents recently, including up-and-coming men's designer Craig Green, who returned to the catwalk in June, also for the first time since the pandemic.

Beckham last held a live show for her luxury brand in London in February 2020, then put on online shows in September 2020 and February 2021.

She was notably absent from London Fashion Week in February, having previously stated that high costs were making it difficult to stage live shows.

Beckham joined the London programme in 2018 to mark the 10th anniversary of her brand, after several years in New York.

Asia cup will be held in UAE, says Ganguly !

BCCI boss Sourav Ganguly has said that the upcoming Asia Cup has been moved from Sri Lanka to the UAE. The Asia Cup was set to be played is August-September this year. "Asia Cup will be in UAE, as it is the only place where there won't be rains," PTI quoted Ganguly as having told reporters after an Apex council meeting in Mumbai. The report also said that SLC had informed the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) that they were not in a position to host the tournament due to existing political and economic situation in their country. The SLC had already postponed the third edition of the Lankan Premier League (LPL) due to the crisis. Asia Cup is scheduled to be held from August 27 to September 11 and the tournament will be played in T20 format.

Tourist bus for Padma Bridge starts today !

Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) is going to start a special bus service for tourists who want to see Padma Bridge. A tourist who wants to visit the 6.15-kilometre bridge, the largest bridge in Bangladesh, will have to pay Tk 999. The special tour bus will run regularly on Friday and Saturday from Agargaon's Parjatan Bhaban at 3:30pm. For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali is expected to inaugurate the service today. "The fare for one person has been fixed at Tk 999. Tickets for two weeks have already been booked," said BPC manager Md Ziaul Haque Howlader. The fare may increase to Tk 1,200 later, he said. Tourists will be able to enjoy the beauty of Padma Bridge during the day, evening and at night.
